We exclusively use FSC-certified and CE-marked premium-grade MDF, such as Medite Premier. This is a high-density, industrial substrate chosen for its consistency and smooth surface. Unlike standard "bargain" boards, it provides a stable core for machining and a superior finish for painting once sealed.

Sealing & Decorating
Sealing & Decorating
While not strictly required for basic crafting, we highly recommend sealing your MDF to achieve a professional, long-lasting finish. Sealing the surface—and especially the absorbent edges—with a diluted PVA glue (50/50 mix) or a dedicated MDF primer prevents the paint from soaking into the fibers.
Best Results:
- Paint: Our shapes are compatible with most furniture paints, emulsions, and acrylic sprays. For the most vibrant results, we recommend high-quality acrylics.
- Technique: Use a foam brush or roller for an even, streak-free application.
- The Secret: For a glass-smooth finish, lightly sand between coats using a fine 240-grit sandpaper (or higher).

Every order is CNC cut to order right here in our UK workshop. We don't ship "off the shelf" mass-produced items; we cut your items specifically for you.
- Production Time: We aim to dispatch all orders within 2 working days.
- Tracked Delivery: We ship via a tracked delivery service to ensure your order is handled with care and is easily traceable from our workshop to your door.
- Sustainability & Packaging: We use reinforced packaging to ensure your shapes arrive crisp and sharp. We are committed to reducing waste; we use new cardboard boxes for strength, but nearly all our internal protective infill is recycled cardboard that we matte and shred in-house.

Every unit is manufactured right here in our Salisbury workshop from 25mm Moisture-Resistant MDF (the industry gold standard). This ultra-dense, premium material cuts down your painting prep time, remains highly stable, and is engineered to withstand everyday ambient moisture and humidity without warping or bowing.
Material Note: Depending on our current workshop stock, we use either Medite MR (brown exterior with a green core) or ATI MR (solid green core). Both are identical, premium quality, and paint up exactly the same.
Flawless Finish & Easy DIY Painting
Unlike cheap, standard MDF that goes fuzzy and absorbs paint like a sponge, our premium MR MDF gives you a flawless finish. Arriving unpainted and pre-sanded, it saves you hours of tedious preparation.
Pro-Tip for a Smooth Finish: Use a good quality MDF primer first, followed by your chosen topcoat. Give the first coat a quick, light sand once dry to knock back any minor fluffing, and your final coat will look completely seamless.
Built for Maximum Strength & Durability
We don't just rely on glue. We build these shelves to handle real-life, daily use:
Elegant Craftsmanship Details: Crafted with a large, traditional Roman Ogee profile on the underside of the shelf, beautifully balanced with an incorporated micro-round on the top edge. All external faces feature this subtle micro-round detail to remove sharp edges and provide a smooth, elegant look.
Hidden Structural Strength: Assembled using high-strength wood glue alongside a combination of hidden internal mechanical fixings. You will never see them, but they give the shelf unbeatable rigidity.
Mushroom Plugs Included: Supplied with wooden end-grain mushroom plugs to cleanly cover and hide your installation screws once mounted.
Please Note: Wall fixings are not supplied. Because wall types vary (plasterboard, brick, etc.), you will need to supply your own suitable screws and wall plugs.

We offer this shelf in lengths ranging from 400mm to 1200mm (in handy 100mm increments) so you can find the perfect fit for your wall space. Select your preferred width and depth from the options above.

Please note: The front overhang depth above the supporting traditional bracket will vary depending on which of these shelf depths you choose.

Size Guide
All measurements are based on the longest dimension of the shape, whether that is the height (top to bottom) or the width (left to right). If you are unsure which dimension is the longest for a specific shape, please Contact Us before ordering to ensure it fits your project.

Our Cutting Process
We use two different professional methods to create your shapes depending on the design and size:
- CNC Routed: For larger or thicker shapes, we use high-speed CNC Routers. These produce a crisp, "mechanical" cut with no burnt edges. The edges will be raw MDF, ready for sealing and painting.
- Laser Cut: For smaller or highly intricate designs, we use precision Laser Cutting. This process leaves a clean, medium-brown finish on the edges. Any slight surface marks from the laser can be easily removed with a light sand or simply painted over.
Both methods provide industrial-grade accuracy and a workshop-quality finish.
